ESTHETICS IN FIXED PROSTHODONTICS

SUMMARY Esthetics is of great importance in modern Dentistry. Esthetics in crown and bridges is of special importance due to the restricting factors of teeth. In this paper the general and specific esthetic characteristics of dental patients are analysed as well as the role of the restricting factors in the esthetic "building" in fixed prosthodontics are examined. Some solutions are proposed for specific problems and many examples are refered mostly for anterior region, but also for posterior. New esthetic materials are available for the reconstruction of teeth. All these materials, in corellation with their strength, are examined for the specific usage in the anterior and the posterior regions.
