GENERAL DISEASES WHICH AFFECT THE NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE OROFACIAL SYSTEM

SUMMARY The normal function of the stomatognathic system and especially the temporomandibular joint is possible to be influenced negatively from a large number of degenerative inflammatory diseases, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and guvenile chronic arthritis. The treatment of such patients concerns both the dentist and rheumatologist, whose collaboration will contribute to a timely diagnosis and the right treatment.
