ORAL REHABILITATION IN CASES OF CLASS II DEEP BITE MALOCCLUSION
I. LOMBARDAS, E. GEORGAKOPOULOU-MPAROUTSOU, P. LOMBARDAS
SUMMARY The class II malocclusion combined with deep bite is usually associated with multiple functional, aesthetic and other problems of the stomatognathing system, which often urge patients to look for dental treatment. Facing these problems through the dialectic relations that exist between form and function allows us to approach them through the basic principles of occlusion, function and aesthetics. In cases of integral and intact dental arches, orthodontics offers an acceptable but usually unstable result without the use of fixed retainer. In cases of deteriorated stomatognathic systems, the orthodontic therapy combined with the necessary prosthodontic treatment and the basic principles of occlusion leads to an acceptable and stable result.
KEY WORDS: Class II deep - bite malocclusion, Vertical dimension.
