The Journal STOMATOLOGIA is the official publication of the Stomatological Society of Greece. It is the oldest dental journal in Greece.

Editorial

By the 4th issue 2011 of "Stomatologia" that has already been published, 68 years of continuous publishing are completed. In its pages the long educational activity of the Stomatological Society of Greece is presented. It is the oldest dental Journal in Greece -back from 1938- and through its pages numerous colleagues have had the opportunity to start and sometimes to establish their scientific work. The Journal has joined the IATROTEK basis, the list of Greek biomedical journals that meet internationally accepted criteria for drafting and issuing. It has also been registered in the Index Copernicus medical data and has received the title of "Scientific Journal of National Recognition", from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, thus making all published scientific papers eligible to be taken under consideration, when seeking position with NHS.

This statement is made because this beacon of knowledge is facing the adversities and challenges of the times, for this reason, the Society's Board decided to issue the content of the Journal, from 2012 every 4 months, only in electronic version and full text in only Greek language.

There is no doubt that for some of us, the undersigned included, the printed edition is a love and practice of a lifetime. However, due to economical and ecological reasons the change is imperative.

The Stomatological Society of Greece requests all subscribers to send their email address to our secretariat, in order to get information how they will get access to the electronic form of the Journal.

We hope that you will embrace the new "Stomatologia" with the same love as the old one.
