INCIDENCE OF BLOODSTREAM INFECTIONS BY BACTERIAL SPECIES AND WARD TYPE

The calculation of incidence of blood stream infections diagnosed in the hospital is based
on the use of routine data accumulated in the hospital laboratories and thus depends on parameters
such as laboratory performance and laboratory use in the particular hospital.
For the calculations one (the first) positive bacterial culture per bacterial species and patient is considered.
